James Cameronreally said “ the whale remain in the picture . ”Avatar : The Way of Water ’s MVP ocean creature is confirmed to be returning to the franchise in a bragging way , and we could n’t be more excited to see the fan favourite become even more constitutional inAvatar 3 .
Payakan — the only Quaker of Jake and Neytiri ’s Logos , Lo’ak ( Britain Dalton ) , and a save friendless submarine sandwich by the end of the film — has a new deputation in life , and that ’s to go all giant John Wick on the malevolent humans who are after the Tulkun ( his sort ) for their immortality serum . In an interview withEmpire , producer Jon Landau shared , “ We view Payakan as a grapheme , not just as a creature . We will proceed to explore his relationship with Lo’ak . ” Payakan and Lo’ak ’s relationship really ground Cameron ’s challenging sequel to the first Avatar , helping draw the tribes together as a joined front for the close at hand human threat .
And Lo’ak is set up to be the next plastic film ’s independent protagonist and narrator , bro . Brendan Cowell , who plays Payakan ’s foe Mick Scoresby , is also set to return after losing an arm — but there ’s no Holy Writ yet if Jemaine Clement ’s jaded scientist made it out alive after the big engagement at the end of The Way of Water . Either way of life , it seems certainEdie Falco’sGeneral Ardmorewill stop at nothing to let humans slather on that heavyweight goo to live forever and a day , no matter how many Na’vi tribes stand in her fashion — so whale payback is definitely going to be a big base as the series continues .
