Nintendo’sNES Classic Edition , which was about impossible to find from its initial releaseright up until the company stoppedmaking it , turn up gamers are athirst for nostalgia . But has 16 year been long enough for Microsoft sports fan to palpate similarly nostalgic for theoriginal Xbox ’s gigantic controllers ?
Accessory makerHyperkinis hoping so . As part of the company ’s E3 2017 announcements , it has revealed a new controller it ’s calling The Duke that is n’t really new at all . The Duke is really a unadulterated replica of the 2001 Xbox ’s included restrainer that many of us remember having to learn to brawl in guild to play Halo . It was a necessary evil , and eventually we all built up the required brawn strength to hold the control long enough to finish Halo , and other games on the original Xbox … It had other games , correct ?
The Duke is n’t an exact clone of the 2001 Xbox ’s controller , however . While it does have those tiny black and white button above the Y , X , B , and A , the motionless Xbox logotype in the eye of the original will be replaced with an actual liquid crystal display cover on The Duke point an animated logotype .

Like the original , the new controller will still have a nine - substructure detachable cable , but will exploit with the Xbox One , and any microcomputer running Windows 10 . Pricing and accessibility details have n’t been discover yet , but Hyperkin does refer to The Duke as being a ‘ limited edition ’ release which have in mind it could be as hard to encounter as the NES Classic Edition was .
Update , 8:39 a.m. EST / EDT : Avideo posted by Hyperkin(included below ) indicates the Duke will be usable in time for the holidays , later this year .
