The USPTO just awarded Google with a letters patent on an “ incorporate finger’s breadth - tracking input sensor twist ” for Google chicken feed which fairly much means that there ’ll be a trackpad on the side material body of the glasses . That trackpad likely means that the Project Glass system will be controlled with your fingers and not just your part or eyesight .
The patent spells out function face such as tapping , scrolling , etc . with the trackpad but obviously does n’t specify how exactly it ’d work in tandem with other Google Glasses moderate . Though having a trackpad on your glasses seems potentially utilitarian , it kinda dumbs down the dream of these glasses being completely hands spare . Either agency , Google is smartly stack up patents for any type of sci - fi spyglass to amount . [ USPTOviaEngadget ]
