Edward Gorey ’s illustrations of lilliputian Red Riding Hood , Jack the Giant Killer , and Rumpelstiltskin are wholly his own , impart his minimise jot to those classic stories .
Gorey provided the illustration for the Scripture Three Classic Children ’s Stories , with schoolbook by James Donnelly . Donnelly simple and straightforward prose seems to meet nicely with Gorey ’s subtly funny draft :
