The reality star celebrated the launch of her vegan empanadas at Mel’s Drive-In in West Hollywood on Tuesday, Dec. 3 alongside her castmates for the Netflix’s docusoap’s upcoming ninth season.

The reality star told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that her goal for the upcoming season is to show fans more of who she is.
“I’m really looking forward to getting my truth out and being able for people to get to know me more,” Hernan said.
The real estate agent, 30, was the subject of rumors she was involved with a married man in Season 8, leading to afeudwith her costar and fellow Oppenheim Group agentNicole Young.
The incident left her wavering on whether or not she would return to the show, she said.
“Last season, I didn’t really have a voice and lies were told,” Hernan said. “Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to tell the truth and even address everything."
“For me, I’m really excited this season to just explain that to everybody and tell everyone what’s going on. Lucky for me, the girls and everyone has been so, so supportive and has had my back through and through the whole situation,” she continued.

She’s looking forward to “being able to show the world basically the friendships that I have with the girls, and the fact that they really did come to bat for me because it was a difficult time what I went through,” Hernan said.

The star said she’s focused on the “positive things” she has going on in her life including the Mel’s Drive-In feature.
“I really want to focus on positivity, and not everything has to be so negative and things like that. That’s what I’m looking forward to, for sure,” Hernan said.
As for her friendships with co-stars Lazkani and Stause, she considers them the sisters she never had.
“It’s nice because you don’t know what you’re getting into, especially when you’re joining the show or when you’re joining an office. It’s nice when you can find people that instantly become your family, and they instantly became my family and my sisters. And I don’t have a sister, so it’s perfect.” she shared.
There may even be a special someone in Hernan’s life, but only time will tell.
“I might give my heart away this Christmas,” Hernan teased. “You’ll have to stay tuned.”
