Soleil Moon Frye’sson had the perfect way to embarrass his mom in public.

“My 10-year-old, when he finally learned about Punky, he was watching old episodes,” Frye, who played the titular character in the popular show, shared. “Then his favorite thing to do was to call me ‘Punky’ when we would go out.”

“And he would literally call me ‘Punky’ all the time and I’d be like, ‘Oh my god, people are going to think that I’m making my kids call me ‘Punky’ so I’d be recognized or something. Anyway, there was no stopping him.”

Frye is mom to daughters Poet, 19, and Jagger, 16, and sons Lyric and Story, 8, whom she shares with ex-husbandJason Goldberg, The twosplit in 2020after 22 years of marriage.

In 2022, Frye shared with PEOPLE abouthow proud she is of her two daughtersas they attended the CORE Gala in Los Angeles.

“They are amazing, they’re so their own individuals and I couldn’t be more proud of them. They have such strong heads on their shoulders, so I feel very proud of them,” Frye said.

“I can’t take all the credit though, because they teach me more about myself than I could have ever imagined.”

She said she felt like “the luckiest person in the world” after watching Jagger graduate eighth grade. “It’s a pretty massive, monumental moment,” Frye said.

Frye also expressed her pride in seeing her daughters taking initiative, adding: “My daughter Jagger, watching this incredible, beautiful piece that she just did on voting rights. It’s just exquisite to see them growing into such amazing people that are also so philanthropic.”
